Eligibility for Choosing the Teaching (Pedagogy) Subject:
The candidate will have to choose only one subject (within a subject category) from Table given below which she/he must have studied in the qualifying degree i.e., Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree for at least 200 marks and obtained at least 50% in this subject. This subject will henceforth be referred to as the teaching subject in the B.Ed. programme. An applicant should go through the following steps:
- Read the B.Ed. Prospectus available very carefully.
- Check your Eligibility according to the Eligibility criteria given in the B.Ed. prospectus 2019.
- Visit the Delhi University website and go to Postgraduate admission Portal and register yourself first.
- For application, fill the Online B.Ed. Application Form available on DU PG Admissions.
- Follow the step by step instructions given on the PG Admissions portal carefully while filling the online form.
- Select the Subject Category and one teaching subject very carefully.
- Please select the Centre of examination carefully.
- No Changes in the form are allowed once the online payment has been done.
- After the payment is made, take a print-out of the form and if selected, bring it on the day of admission at the allocated institution.

Application Fee
Candidates applying for the postgraduate course at the University of Delhi have to pay the registration fee. This DU Entrance Application Fee will be non-refundable.
Application fee amount is different for the different category students. So candidates have to pay the Delhi University application fee according to their category.
- The registration fee for SC/ST/PwD: Rs. 250/- for each course
- The registration fee for all other categories such as General / OBC: Rs. 500/- for each course
Selection Process
Admission to the B. Ed. programme is based on a Written Test of 400 marks. The merit will be prepared on the basis of scores obtained in the Written Test. The test will be of 2 hours duration. It will contain 100 questions in MCQ format of 4 marks each. There is a NEGATIVE MARKING. For each wrong answer, ONE mark would be deducted.
The test will include questions based on understanding and application of concepts in Science, Social Science, and Mathematics at the school level, language comprehension in both English and Hindi, reasoning and general awareness on social, political and economic issues.

- Lady Irwin College ( LIC)
- Maharshi Valmiki College of Education (MVCE)
- Shyama Prasad Mukherji College for women (SPMC)
Lady Irwin College (LIC) and Shyama Prasad Mukherji College for Women (SPMC) are exclusively for women. Only women candidates can apply to LIC and SPMC.
LIC offers B.Ed. only with Home Science as a teaching subject. Department of Education (CIE) and Maharshi Valmiki College of Education (MVCE) are co-educational institutions.
