B. Ed. Special Education (Visual Impairment) Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility Criteria for the Candidates applying for the B. Ed. Mental Retardation course is given below.

Candidates with at least 50% either in Bachelor’s Degree and/or in the Master’s Degree in Science/Social Science/Humanities/Commerce, Bachelor’s in Engineering or Technology with specialization in Science and Mathematics with 55% marks or any other qualification equivalent thereto, are eligible for admission to the Programme.

Eligibility for Choosing Subjects

The candidate will have to choose only one subject (within a subject category) from Table 1 which she must have studied in the qualifying degree i.e., Bachelor"s Degree or Master"s Degree for at least 200 marks and obtained at least 50% in this subject. This subject will henceforth be referred to as the teaching subject in the B.Ed. Programme. Candidates are advised to carefully study Table given below, showing the subjects offered in the various subject categories.

Step by step details to apply online for the DU B. Ed. Special Education Visual Impairment Entrance exam 2019 is given below. Students are advised to read the official prospectus carefully before applying.

An applicant should go through the following steps:

  1. Visit the Delhi University PG Admission Portal.
  2. Go through the B.Ed. Special Education (VI) Prospectus.
  3. Check your Eligibility according to the Eligibility criteria given in the prospectus.
  4. For online application, fill the B.Ed. Special Education (VI) Admission Form available on DU PG Admissions Portal.
  5. Please follow the step by step instructions given on the PG Admission portal carefully while filling the online form.
  6. Please select the place of examination carefully.
  7. NO CHANGES IN THE FORM ARE ALLOWED ONCE THE PAYMENT HAS BEEN MADE.
  8. After the payment is made, take a print of the form and bring it at the time of admission.

Application Fee

Candidates applying for the postgraduate course at the University of Delhi have to pay the registration fee. This DU Entrance Application Fee will be non-refundable.

Application fee amount is different for the different category students. So candidates have to pay the Delhi University application fee according to their category.

  1. The registration fee for SC/ST/PwD: Rs. 250/- for each course
  2. The registration fee for all other categories such as General / OBC: Rs. 500/- for each course

Selection Process

All admissions to the B.Ed. Special Education (MR) Programme 2019 will be made through an Entrance Test. The written Entrance Test will be of two hours duration. The Question Paper shall consist of 100 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQ) questions from four areas. Details about these four areas are given in the Exam Pattern Section.

Section A: General Knowledge This section will contain questions that would test the candidates’ general knowledge and awareness of social, political, environmental, and economic issues. The section will also contain questions to examine the perspectives and analysis of and responses to teaching-learning situations.

Section B: Reasoning This section will assess the mathematical, logical, and verbal reasoning abilities. It will also assess candidates’ abilities to analyze and interpret data and find solutions to problematic situations.

Section C: Subject Knowledge up to class X This section will contain questions based on understanding and application of concepts in Science, Social Science, and Mathematics up to secondary level.

Section D: Language Proficiency This section will assess comprehension in both English and Hindi.

Reasoning and General Awareness:

This would include areas to assess abilities such as reasoning (mathematical, inductive and deductive), identifying and understanding the relationship between various elements, decision making, data analysis, interpretation, etc. This will also assess the awareness and knowledge of the candidate in the fields of the education, national and international affairs, etc.

Teaching Aptitude and Sensitivity towards Disability:

This test focuses on assessing sensitivity to issues related to the growing child, School, family and society and probes the candidate"s general disposition and attitude towards teaching and issues related to Disability.

Language Comprehension:

The Comprehension Test aims at assessing the candidate"s language comprehension Skills both in English & in Hindi.

Subject knowledge up to 10th class:

This part will assess the content knowledge and analytical abilities of the candidates in the core subjects (Hindi, English, Social Science, Mathematics and Science) studied in 10th class.
