Entrance-Based Eligibility

Students who are looking to get admission in M.A. Bengali on the basis of entrance must have following educational qualifications.

B.A. (Hons) Examination in any subject (Arts or Social sciences) of the University of Delhi or an Examination recognized as equivalent thereto with at least one paper in Bengali as a subsidiary subject at the graduate level. 40% marks in aggregate and 45% marks in the subject (Subject to passing an eligibility test in Bengali to be held by the Department) or equivalent grade
M.A. ( in any subject) examination of the University of Delhi or an examination recognized as equivalent thereto with at least two papers in Bengali the graduate level. 50% marks in aggregate and 55% marks in the subject (subject to passing an eligibility test in Bengali to be held by the Department) or equivalent grade

Merit-Based Eligibility

Students who are looking to get admission in M.A. Bengali on the basis of merit must have following educational qualifications.

Seats (Category wise / State & District Wise)

The total number of seats in Delhi University for M. A. Bengali Course is 34. Out of these 34 seats, 17 are on the merit-based and 17 are on entrance based.

Application Fee

Candidates applying for the postgraduate course at the University of Delhi have to pay the registration fee. This DU Entrance Application Fee will be non-refundable.

Application fee amount is different for the different category students. So candidates have to pay the Delhi University application fee according to their category.

  1. The registration fee for SC/ST/PwD: Rs. 250/- for each course
  2. The registration fee for all other categories such as General / OBC: Rs. 500/- for each course

M.A. Bengali Exam Pattern

DU M. A. Bengali Exam Pattern 2019 is given below. A total of 100 questions will be asked in the entrance exam.

  1. Each question will be of 4 marks.
  2. There will be a negative marking for the incorrect response, 1 mark will be deducted.
  3. Paper will be of objective type only with one option correct.
