Eligibility Crtieria

Eligibility criteria for the candidates applying for the VITEEE 2019. General criteria are: Candidate must have studied PCM in 10+2 examination and must have obtained 60% marks in the qualifying examination.

Percentage relaxation to the various category candidates is available below.

Educational Qualification

1. Candidates appearing for the VITEEE in 2018 should have secured an aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying examination (+2/Intermediate).
2. The average marks obtained in the subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics or Biology (PCM / PCB) in +2 (or its equivalent) put together should be 50% for the following categories: Candidates belonging to SC/ST Candidates hailing from Jammu and Kashmir and the North Eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim, and Tripura. CERTIFICATE TO PROVE NATIVITY should be produced at the time of counselling, failing which they will not be considered for admission.
3. Candidates who have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are eligible for all the B.Tech. Programmes.

Eligibility for Bio-engineering and Biotechnology

1. Candidates who have studied Physics, Chemistry, and Biology are eligible for B.Tech. Bio-engineering and B.Tech. Biotechnology programmes. They are also eligible for B.Tech. Computer Science and Engineering (Specialization in Bioinformatics) and Electronics and Communication with Specialization in Biomedical Engineering but after joining, registering Mathematics as bridge course is mandatory.

Age Limit for VITEEE

1. Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 1st July 1997 are eligible to apply for VITEEE-2018.
2. The date of birth as recorded in the High School / SSC / X Certificate will be considered authentic.
3. Candidates should produce this certificate in original as a proof of their age at the time of counselling, failing for which they will be disqualified.

VITEEE 2019 Selection Process

Single Entrance Exam is conducted for the admission at four campuses of the Vellore Institute of Technology.

Admission is based on the VITEEE 2019 Engineering Entrance exam, so the students are advised to apply to this entrance exam without missing the last date.

1. The admission will be purely on the basis of the marks secured in the VITEEE-2019, conducted by VIT.
2. Candidates who have not appeared for the VITEEE are not eligible for admission
3. Candidates will be shortlisted based on their entrance examination rank and will be called for the counselling
4. VITEEE for B.Tech. programme is common for VIT-Vellore, VIT-Chennai, VIT-Bhopal, and VIT-AP
5. Candidates can select the campus of their choice at the time of counselling based on the ranking

Exam Pattern

The very famous Vellore Institute of technology conducts Engineering Entrance Exam for its various Technology courses admissions.

1. All Questions will be of Multiple Choice Question (MCQ).
2. PART-I – Physics: 40 Questions
3. PART-II – Chemistry: 40 Questions
4. PART-III – Mathematics / Biology: 40 Questions
5. PART-IV – English: 5 Questions

Candidates attempting Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics & English are eligible for all the B.Tech programmes offered.

Candidates attempting Physics, Chemistry, Biology & English are eligible for B.Tech. Biotechnology, B.Tech. Bioengineering, B.Tech.CSE (specialization in Bioinformatics) and ECE with specialization in Biomedical Engineering programmes.

Other Important Details about the written test

1. The selection of subjects (Physics/Chemistry/ Mathematics or Biology/English) has to be mentioned in the application form itself.
2. The questions will primarily be from the State Board of Higher Secondary Education and the CBSE syllabus. 
3. Each part has 40 questions and English has 5 questions, with each question carrying one mark.
4. Each question is followed by 4 alternative answers. The candidate will have to choose the correct answer and click the same.
5. No negative marks for wrong answers.
6. Paper will be in english language only

Scholarship

The best part of VITEEE is the scholarship for the toppers of state boards and central board. Along with the VITEEE Rank holders.

Last year cut off

Vellore Institute of technology Engineering entrance exam cut off is the minimum qualifying marks a candidate require to get admission in the VIT Campuses. As it is clear from the official prospectus of VITEEE 2019, admission in VIT is on the basis of written test exam called VITEEE. There is no other mode of admission to this University.

So, candidates are suggested to study very hard for this entrance exam as this institute is one of the quality engineering institutes in India. Competition is very tough for this Institute.

Vellore Institute of technology doesn't declare its cut off officially. So you won't be able to find it anywhere. You may find the VITEEE previous year cut off for years 2016, 2015 etc. But cut off for the year 2017 and 2018 are not declared by the Vellore Institute of Technology University officially.
