PSTET 2019 Eligibility Criteria

PSTET 2019 consists of two papers fist is for the candidates willing to teach class 1st to class IV students. and 2nd paper is for those candidates who will teach class V to class VIII. Further details about the PSTET Eligibility Criteria is provided below.

PSTET I (For Class I to IV) Eligibility

The applicant must have passed 12th standard with at least 50% marks or must be appearing in the final year of a 02-year diploma.

PSTET II (For Class V-VIII): Eligibility

The applicant must have passed graduation (Bachelors degree) with at least 50% marks or must be appearing in the final year of a 02-year Diploma or B.Ed.

PSTET Cut off Marks / PSTET 2019 Qualifying marks

A person who scores 60% or more in the PSTET exam will be considered as PSTET pass.
  • Punjab Govt., as decided to give a concession of 5% in PSTET to the persons belonging to SC/ST, OBC, differently-abled persons, etc., in accordance with their extant reservation policy;
  • This weightage to the PSTET scores in the recruitment process; however, qualifying the PSTET would not confer a right on any person for recruitment/employment as it is only one of the eligibility criteria for appointment.

Validity Period of PSTET Certificate

1. The Validity Period of PSTET qualifying certificate for appointment will be seven years from the date of declaration of its result for all categories. 2. There is no restriction on the number of attempts a person can take for acquiring a PSTET Certificate.
