Minimum Qualification Candidates must have completed a graduate degree, diploma or postgraduate degree programme of minimum three years duration after 10+2.
Final-Year Candidates Candidates appearing for the final examination of a qualifying programme may appear for CEED provided the final examination is completed by the prescribed July deadline.
GD Arts Diploma Candidates who have passed the Government Diploma in Applied Arts (GD Arts) programme of 10+5 level may also appear, subject to the applicable rules.
Age Limit There is no age limit for appearing in CEED.
Number of Attempts Candidates can appear for CEED any number of times.
Institute-Specific Eligibility Qualifying in CEED does not by itself guarantee admission. Each participating institute may have additional eligibility, qualification, portfolio, test or interview requirements.
CEED Score Validity The CEED score card is valid for one year from the date of result declaration.
Qualifying CEED Qualifying CEED does not guarantee admission to an M.Des. or Ph.D. programme.

Frequently Asked Questions

CEED stands for Common Entrance Examination for Design. It is conducted by IIT Bombay for admission to postgraduate design programmes and certain Ph.D. programmes at participating institutes.

CEED is conducted by the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay through the UCEED-CEED Office.

Candidates must have completed or be completing a degree, diploma or postgraduate degree programme of at least three years after 10+2, or satisfy the GD Arts qualification route.

No. There is no age limit for appearing in CEED.

There is no restriction on the number of times a candidate can appear for CEED.

Part-A is conducted as a computer-based test. Part-B questions are displayed on the computer, but candidates write/draw their answers in the provided answer booklet.

CEED has two parts: Part-A and Part-B. Candidates must attempt both parts.

The current Part-A carries 150 marks.

Part-B carries 100 marks and consists of five mandatory questions.

The final score is calculated as 25% of Part-A marks plus 75% of Part-B marks.

Negative marking applies to certain Part-A question types. NAT questions have no negative marking; MSQ and MCQ sections have the applicable penalties described in the official brochure.
