Cochin University of Science and Technology Common Admission Test (CUSAT CAT) is the principal admission system used by CUSAT for numerous undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. CAT uses different test codes according to the programme. For the current PCM Test Code 101, used for applicable B.Tech and other programmes, the examination contains 75 Physics questions, 60 Chemistry questions and 90 Mathematics questions, giving 225 questions in three hours. Each correct response carries four marks and each incorrect response carries minus one mark. CUSAT also operates other CAT test codes for Biology, Law, integrated programmes, sciences and postgraduate programmes. MBA applicants register through the CUSAT admission system but use valid KMAT, CMAT or CAT-IIM scores. M.Tech admissions give preference to valid GATE scores, with Department Admission Tests used in applicable circumstances.
