About RIMCEE 2026

Rashtriya Indian Military College Entrance Examination (RIMCEE) 2026 is conducted for admission to Class VIII at the Rashtriya Indian Military College, Dehradun, for the July 2027 term. Stage-I is conducted by the National Testing Agency as a written examination, followed by Stage-II Viva Voce and Stage-III Medical Examination. Eligible Date of Birth For RIMCEE-2026 for admission to the July 2027 term, candidates must have been born between 02 July 2013 and 01 January 2015, both dates inclusive.
Age Requirement For admission to the July 2027 term, candidates should not be less than twelve years six months and not more than fourteen years of age as on 01 July 2027.
Educational Qualification At the time of admission, candidates should be studying in Class VII or should have passed Class VII from a recognized school.
Admission Class RIMC begins its academic session from Class VIII.
All Stages Must Be Qualified Candidates must qualify separately in the Written Examination, Viva Voce and Medical Examination.
Final Admission Final admission is subject to eligibility, merit, vacancies, medical fitness and verification of original documents.
Stage-I Candidates appear in English, General Knowledge and Mathematics examinations.
Written Examination Qualification Candidates must obtain the prescribed minimum qualifying percentage of the total marks in each written subject.
Stage-II Only candidates qualifying the written examination are called for Viva Voce according to the applicable selection process.

Government Photo ID A valid government approved photo identity proof is mandatory for verification as specified in the application form.
Service Certificate Service certificate may be required for wards of defence personnel, government employees or transferable job holders applying for an examination centre other than the domicile location.
Photograph Date The photograph should be recent and taken on or after 01 July 2026.
Face Coverage The photograph should clearly show the face with approximately 80 percent face coverage and both ears visible.
Background Photograph background should be plain and light in colour.
Cap or Goggles Photographs should not include a cap or goggles.
Spectacles Spectacles are permitted only when regularly used.
Annual RIMC Fee The annual RIMC fee stated in the information bulletin is ₹1,48,650 for General candidates, except for the first year.

Medical Examination Candidates qualifying the Written Examination and Viva Voce and included in the medical call-up list undergo Medical Examination at selected military hospitals.
Medical Standard Only candidates declared medically fit are considered for final selection and admission subject to merit and vacancies.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates must be Indian citizens as per the applicable RIMC admission rules.
  • For admission to the July 2027 term, candidates must be between 12 years 6 months and 14 years of age as on 01 July 2027.
  • For RIMCEE-2026, the eligible date of birth range is from 02 July 2013 to 01 January 2015, both dates inclusive.
  • Candidates should be studying in Class VII or should have passed Class VII from a recognized school at the time of admission.
  • Candidates must satisfy all eligibility requirements prescribed by RIMC.
  • Merely appearing or qualifying in the written examination does not guarantee admission.
  • Candidates must qualify separately in the Written Examination, Viva Voce and Medical Examination.
  • Final admission is subject to merit, vacancies, medical fitness and verification of original documents.
