Ghani Khan Choudhury Institute of Engineering and Technology (GKCIET), Malda was established in 2010 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India under the mentorship of NIT Durgapur. The institute was created to develop multidisciplinary technical manpower through engineering, diploma, vocational and skill-development programmes with emphasis on inclusive technical education.

Affiliation B.Tech programmes are affiliated with Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology (MAKAUT), West Bengal. Diploma programmes are affiliated with West Bengal State Council of Technical & Vocational Education & Skill Development.
Approvals Academic programmes are approved by AICTE.
Admission Process B.Tech admissions are conducted through WBJEE counselling for West Bengal candidates and through JEE Main (JoSAA/CSAB) for candidates from other states. Diploma admissions are conducted through JEXPO and GKCIET Entrance Test (GET) as applicable.
