The Department of Posts has announced Gramin Dak Sevak Online Engagement Schedule-II, July-2026 for tentative vacancies of Branch Postmaster (BPM), Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM) and Dak Sevak in postal circles and divisions across India. A total of 23,757 tentative vacancies are available. Candidates who have passed Class 10 with Mathematics and English and fulfill the prescribed local language and other eligibility conditions can apply online. Selection is based on a system-generated merit list prepared from marks obtained in the Secondary School Examination of Class 10, followed by physical verification of documents and engagement formalities. There is no conventional written examination or interview stage prescribed for this merit-based engagement process.

Qualification: Secondary School Examination (10th Class) pass with passing marks in Mathematics and English from a recognized Board, along with the prescribed local language studied up to 10th standard.
Upper age relaxation: SC/ST 5 years, OBC 3 years, PwBD 10 years, PwBD plus OBC 13 years and PwBD plus SC/ST 15 years. No upper age relaxation is available for EWS candidates under the prescribed rules.

Candidates can begin One-Time Registration on the GDS Online Engagement Portal.
The One-Time Registration window closes at 17:00 hours on 19 September 2026.
Online application submission and applicable fee payment begin from 2 September 2026.
The online application submission and applicable fee payment window closes at 17:00 hours on 21 September 2026.
The edit and correction window opens for eligible submitted applications.
The correction window closes at 17:00 hours on 24 September 2026.
Candidates are shortlisted through a system-generated merit list based on marks obtained in the Secondary School Examination of Class 10.
The merit list is prepared using marks obtained or the prescribed conversion of grades or points in the Secondary School Examination, aggregated to percentage accuracy as prescribed.
Shortlisted candidates must attend physical verification with original documents and required self-attested copies as applicable.
Candidates whose documents are successfully verified must complete the prescribed pre-engagement and joining formalities.
Final engagement is subject to completion of the prescribed verification and engagement procedures.
