State Bank of India has invited online applications for recruitment of Junior Associates (Customer Support & Sales) in the Clerical Cadre under Advertisement No. CRPD/CR/2026-27/17. A total of 9,124 vacancies are advertised, comprising 7,680 regular vacancies and 1,444 backlog vacancies. Candidates can apply for vacancies in one State or Union Territory only and must be proficient in the specified opted local language of that State or UT. The recruitment process consists of an Online Preliminary Examination, Online Main Examination and, wherever applicable, a test of the specified opted local language. Preliminary Examination is tentatively scheduled for September 2026 and Main Examination is tentatively scheduled for November 2026. Only marks obtained in the Main Examination are considered for preparation of the final merit list. The post carries the SBI Clerical Cadre pay scale with starting Basic Pay of Rs. 26,730 for graduates, including two advance increments. Selected Junior Associates will be on probation for a minimum period of six months.

Qualification: Graduation in any discipline from a recognised University or any equivalent qualification recognised by the Central Government. Candidates having an Integrated Dual Degree (IDD) certificate should ensure that the date of passing the IDD is on or before 31 December 2026.
Upper age relaxation is available to eligible OBC, SC/ST, PwBD, Ex-Servicemen/Disabled Ex-Servicemen, widows/divorced women/women judicially separated from husbands and eligible trained apprentices of SBI as prescribed in the notification.

Online Objective Test of 100 marks and 1 hour duration consisting of English Language, Numerical Ability and Reasoning Ability. Each section has separate timing of 20 minutes. There is a penalty of one-fourth mark for each wrong answer.
Online Main Examination of 190 questions for 200 marks and 2 hours 40 minutes. Sections are General/Financial Awareness, General English, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning Ability & Computer Aptitude. There is a penalty of one-fourth mark for each wrong answer.
Provisionally selected candidates who have not studied the specified opted local language in Class 10 or 12 must qualify the Local Language Proficiency Test before joining the Bank.
Preliminary Examination marks are not added to the final selection score. Final merit is prepared on the basis of aggregate marks obtained in the Main Examination, subject to eligibility verification and qualifying the local language test wherever applicable.
A wait list of up to 50% of vacancies on State-category basis may be maintained for one year from declaration of final result, subject to the conditions prescribed by SBI.
