Applications are screened according to the prescribed screening guidelines. Academic record, qualifications, research publications, teaching/post-doctoral experience, NET/JRF, Ph.D. and awards may contribute to the screening score.
Candidates are shortlisted according to the screening guidelines. Ordinarily, 40 candidates for the first vacancy and 20 candidates for every additional vacancy in each category are called for interview in order of merit, subject to the prescribed rules.
Shortlisted candidates undergo presentation assessment. Assessment includes writing skills, communication skills, humility, passion and zeal for teaching. Candidates absent from the presentation assessment are not permitted to appear before the Selection Committee.
Final selection is made by the duly constituted Selection Committee. Selection is based on performance in the interview after the prescribed screening and presentation stages.
A 2-hour MCQ written examination of 100 questions carrying 400 marks is conducted for screening/shortlisting. Visually handicapped, cerebral palsy and similarly placed PwBD candidates receive 45 minutes additional time as specified.
