The Staff Selection Commission has released the notification for Junior Engineer Examination 2026 under Advertisement No. HQ-C-3019/1/2026-C-3. The recruitment covers 1,748 tentative vacancies for Junior Engineer posts in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Electrical and Mechanical and Telecom-related disciplines across Government of India organizations. The notification also includes the Scientific Assistant post in the India Meteorological Department. The posts are Group B, Non-Gazetted and Non-Ministerial positions carrying Pay Level-6 under the 7th Central Pay Commission. Selection is conducted through two Computer Based Examinations followed by document verification and post or department allocation according to merit, eligibility and candidate preference. Qualification: Degree or Diploma in the relevant Engineering discipline for Junior Engineer posts, or the prescribed Science/Engineering qualification for Scientific Assistant in IMD, depending on the post and organization.
Age limit varies by post and organization. The maximum age is generally 30 years or 32 years depending on the post. SC/ST candidates receive up to 5 years relaxation, OBC candidates up to 3 years, and other categories receive relaxation according to
