The Staff Selection Commission will hold the Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces Examination, 2026 for recruitment of Sub-Inspectors in Delhi Police, Sub-Inspector (GD) in CAPFs and Sub-Inspector (Fire) in CISF. Online applications are invited from 10.09.2026 to 30.09.2026. The last date and time for receipt of applications is 30.09.2026 at 23:00 hrs. Online fee payment can be made up to 01.10.2026 at 23:00 hrs. The application correction window is 08.10.2026 to 10.10.2026 up to 23:00 hrs. The Computer Based Examination schedule will be notified later. There are 2,018 tentative vacancies: 205 SI (Executive)-Male in Delhi Police, 112 SI (Executive)-Female in Delhi Police, 1,467 SI (GD) in CAPFs and 234 SI (Fire)-Male in CISF. The examination consists of Paper-I, PST/PET, Paper-II and Detailed Medical Examination. PST/PET and DME/RME are qualifying in nature. Final selection/allocation is based on Paper-II performance including applicable NCC bonus marks and post/force preferences, subject to qualifying all mandatory stages and document verification.

| Probation | Candidates appointed through this examination will be on probation for a period of two years. | Training Requirement | Finally selected Sub-Inspectors have to pass seven obstacle events as part of the training curriculum. Failure to pass the prescribed events may result in the candidate not being retained in the Force. |
| Tattoo Rules | Tattoos are permitted only subject to prescribed conditions. Religious symbols/figures and names as followed in the Indian Army are permitted. Candidates whose completed applications and requisite fee have been received within the specified period can correct and re-submit their applications. A candidate may submit a corrected application two times. Correction charge is ₹200 for the first correction and ₹500 for the second correction, irrespective of gender/category.
PST/PET carries no marks and is qualifying/elimination in nature. Male candidates: 100 metre race in 16 seconds, 1.6 km race in 6.5 minutes, long jump 3.65 metres in 3 chances, high jump 1.2 metres in 3 chances and shot put (16 lbs) 4.5 metres in 3 chances. Female candidates: 100 metre race in 18 seconds, 800 metre race in 4 minutes, long jump 2.7 metres in 3 chances and high jump 0.9 metres in 3 chances. Ex-Servicemen are not required to undergo PET but must qualify PST and meet medical standards.
Candidates qualifying Paper-II will undergo Detailed Medical Examination by authorized medical officers. Candidates found unfit during DME may undergo Review Medical Examination. Minimum near vision is N6 in the better eye and N9 in the worse eye. Minimum distant vision is 6/6 in the better eye and 6/9 in the worse eye, without correction by glasses or surgery. Candidates must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint and must possess high colour vision. They must be in good mental and bodily health and free from physical defects likely to interfere with efficient performance of duties.
Selection consists of Paper-I, PST/PET, Paper-II, Detailed Medical Examination/Review Medical Examination and Document Verification. Paper-I is used to shortlist candidates for PST/PET. Only candidates qualifying PST/PET proceed to Paper-II. Candidates are shortlisted for medical examination based on Paper-II performance. Candidates qualifying DME/RME and Document Verification are considered for final selection. Final selection and post/force allocation are based on Paper-II performance including applicable NCC bonus marks and post/force preference.
