UGC NET 2026: NTA to Re-Conduct English, Commerce and Sociology Papers
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced a re-examination for UGC NET June 2026 candidates of English, Commerce and Sociology. The decision was taken after complaints were received about several errors in the question papers. According to NTA, a committee found factual, typographical, translation and grammatical errors in the three papers. It also found repeated questions, prompting the agency to conduct the exams again to ensure a fair examination. The English and Commerce papers will be held on September 9, 2026. English will be conducted in Shift 1 from 9 AM to 12 Noon, while Commerce will be held in Shift 2 from 3 PM to 6 PM. The Sociology paper is scheduled for September 10, 2026, in Shift 1 from 9 AM to 12 Noon. Candidates will not have to pay any additional examination fee for the re-conduct. NTA said city, examination centre and admit card details will be announced separately. Results for the other 84 subjects will continue as scheduled and will not be delayed because of the re-examination.
