The Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) has issued Advertisement No. 14/2026 for the Teacher Recruitment Examination (TRE-4.0) 2026 for appointment of teachers in government schools in Bihar. The recruitment covers Primary Teachers for Classes 1 to 5, Middle School Teachers for Classes 6 to 8, Secondary Teachers for Classes 9 to 10 and Senior Secondary Teachers for Classes 11 to 12. The total number of vacancies is 32,388. The vacancy distribution is 3,847 posts for Classes 1 to 5, 8,563 posts for Classes 6 to 8, 3,877 posts for Classes 9 to 10 and 16,101 posts for Classes 11 to 12. Eligibility Criteria

Qualification: Post-wise educational qualification is prescribed for Primary, Middle School, Secondary and Senior Secondary teacher posts. Primary Teacher candidates require the prescribed Senior Secondary/Graduation qualification along with D.El.Ed/B.El.Ed/B.Ed or equivalent teacher-training qualification and CTE

• Candidate must satisfy the educational qualification prescribed for the selected teaching level and subject.
• Primary Teacher posts cover Classes 1 to 5.
• Middle School Teacher posts cover Classes 6 to 8.
• Secondary Teacher posts cover Classes 9 to 10.
• Senior Secondary Teacher posts cover Classes 11 to 12.
• Primary Teacher candidates must possess the prescribed elementary teacher education qualification and applicable CTET/BTET Paper-I qualification.
• Middle School Teacher candidates must possess the prescribed academic and teacher-training qualification and applicable CTET/BTET Paper-II qualification.
• Secondary Teacher candidates must possess the prescribed subject-specific Graduation/Post Graduation and teacher-training qualification along with STET Paper-I where prescribed.
• Senior Secondary Teacher candidates must possess the prescribed subject-specific Post Graduation and teacher-training qualification along with STET Paper-II where prescribed.
• Candidates must satisfy the subject-specific qualification requirements mentioned in the detailed notification.
• Minimum age is generally 18 years for Primary and Middle School teacher posts.
• Minimum age is generally 21 years for Secondary and Senior Secondary teacher posts.
• Maximum age and category-wise relaxation are governed by Bihar Government and BPSC rules applicable to the recruitment.
• Candidates must possess the required qualification and eligibility certificate by the prescribed cut-off date.
• Candidates must be eligible to work as teachers under the applicable Bihar school education recruitment rules.
