Fluid Control Research Institute (FCRI), an institute under the Ministry of Heavy Industries, Government of India, has invited applications from Indian Nationals for direct recruitment to the posts of Research Engineer and Junior Research Engineer under Notification No. FCRI/P&A/2026-27/Scientific Staff-001/RE-JRE dated 22 July 2026. There are 19 vacancies in total, comprising 4 Research Engineer posts in Mechanical Engineering specializations and 15 Junior Research Engineer posts in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical/Electrical & Electronics and Instrumentation-related disciplines. Research Engineer posts are at Level 10 of the 7th CPC Pay Matrix with basic pay of Rs. 56,100 to Rs. 1,77,500, while Junior Research Engineer posts are at Level 8 with basic pay of Rs. 47,600 to Rs. 1,51,100. Online applications are screened on the basis of educational qualifications, experience where applicable, age and payment of the applicable application fee. Provisionally qualified candidates are published on the FCRI website.
Shortlisted JRE candidates appear for an online MCQ examination at test centres in Coimbatore and/or Kochi. The examination has 100 questions, 400 maximum marks and 120 minutes duration. Four marks are awarded for each correct answer, one mark is deducted for each incorrect answer and no marks are awarded for unattempted questions. The paper is bilingual in Hindi and English.
Shortlisted candidates must produce original documents relating to age, identity, qualification, marks, experience and reservation category. Government/Autonomous Body/Research Institute/PSU employees must produce the required NOC, vigilance clearance, penalty details and APAR documents where applicable.
Provisionally shortlisted candidates are called for personal interview after completion of document verification. Research Engineer selection is based on interview, although FCRI may include additional assessment stages if required. JRE final ranking is based on written test and interview with 80:20 weightage.
