The National Council for Cooperative Training (NCCT), Ministry of Cooperation, Government of India, invites applications for engagement of one Consultant (Legal) at NCCT Headquarters, New Delhi, on contract basis. The Consultant (Legal) will provide legal advice and assistance on service rules, administrative matters, contracts, agreements, court cases, arbitration, RTI and other legal matters. The engagement is initially for one year and may be extended based on requirement. The consolidated monthly remuneration is Rs. 60,000. The maximum age limit is 50 years. Candidates must possess an LLB degree and at least 3 years of relevant experience. | Legal Advice and Consultancy | Provide legal opinion and advice on service rules, administrative issues, contracts, agreements, court cases, arbitration, RTI matters and other legal issues concerning NCCT. |
| Drafting and Vetting | Examine and vet agreements, MoUs, contracts, tender documents, legal notices, office orders, circulars and policy documents from the legal perspective. |
| Litigation Matters | Assist in handling litigation before Courts, Tribunals, Consumer Forums, Arbitration proceedings, CAT, High Courts and other judicial or quasi-judicial authorities. |
| Court Case Coordination | Coordinate with Standing Counsels and Advocates and monitor the progress of court cases and legal proceedings. |
| Legal Drafting for Court Cases | Prepare para-wise comments, affidavits, counter affidavits, rejoinders, replies, written submissions and other legal documents for filing before courts and tribunals. |
| Legal Records and Compliance | Maintain records and database of court cases and ensure timely compliance with court directions and orders. |
| Disciplinary and Vigilance Matters | Examine disciplinary and vigilance matters and provide legal inputs wherever required. |
| Legal Research | Conduct legal research and prepare briefs, notes, summaries and reports on legal matters referred by the competent authority. |
| Leave | The consultant will be eligible for 15 days leave in a calendar year. Leave cannot be carried forward to the next calendar year. Any other leave will be treated as leave without pay. |
| Notice Period | If performance is found unsatisfactory, services may be terminated after one month notice or payment in lieu thereof. In case of resignation, one month notice or pay in lieu of the notice period is required. |
| Confidentiality | The consultant is required to maintain confidentiality of the work, official records, documents and legal matters assigned by NCCT. |
| Office Attendance | The consultant is required to attend the respective office during working hours and working days and may be required to attend office during holidays in case of exigency of work as directed by the Competent Authority. |

NCCT will scrutinize applications on the basis of the information and documents submitted. Mere possession of the prescribed qualification and experience does not guarantee a call for interview. Only shortlisted candidates, based on criteria decided by NCCT, will be invited for interview.
Shortlisted candidates will be called for interview. The interview date will be communicated through the email address provided in the application form.
Selected candidates must produce original certificates for verification of eligibility. Appointment is provisional and subject to verification of documents and antecedents.
