About This Recruitment

The Uttar Pradesh Subordinate Services Selection Commission has invited online applications for the Preliminary Eligibility Test (PET) 2026 under Advertisement No. 16-Exam/2026. PET is a common qualifying examination used for eligibility and shortlisting of candidates for various Group C main examinations conducted by UPSSSC. Candidates who have passed High School or an equivalent examination and satisfy the prescribed age conditions can apply. The online application process is conducted through the UPSSSC system and One Time Registration is required before applying. The PET examination consists of objective type questions and is conducted as an OMR based examination. The examination is a qualifying or screening stage and does not itself represent a fixed number of vacancies. Candidates qualifying under the applicable PET criteria can subsequently participate in relevant UPSSSC main recruitment examinations as and when notified.

Eligibility Criteria

Qualification: High School (Class 10) or equivalent examination passed from a recognized board or institution.

• Candidate must have passed High School or an equivalent examination.
• Higher educational qualifications are also acceptable where the minimum qualification is satisfied.
• Candidate must be 18 years or older as on 01 July 2026.
• Candidate must not be more than 40 years of age as on 01 July 2026.
• Age relaxation is applicable to eligible reserved and special categories as per applicable Uttar Pradesh Government and UPSSSC rules.
• Candidates are required to complete One Time Registration before submitting the PET application.
