What our past papers show
In the five papers we studied, every Part B had 100 questions. About 10 were pedagogy in the 2023 and 2024 papers. See the chapter-wise weightage.
A quick scoring example
Say you attempt 150 questions. 120 are right and 30 are wrong.
| Item | Calculation | Marks |
|---|---|---|
| Correct | 120 x 1 | 120 |
| Wrong | 30 x 0.25 | -7.5 |
| Score | 112.5 |
Each wrong answer wipes out a quarter of a right one. Guess only when you can drop two options.
What to remember
- Part B is half the paper, so it decides your rank.
- Part A has five subjects of equal weight. Do not ignore any.
- Pedagogy sits inside Part B. Prepare it.
Selection stages
| Stage | What happens |
|---|---|
| Stage 1 | Online written test (200 marks) |
| Stage 2 | Skill or aptitude test, only if required |
| Stage 3 | E-dossier upload and document check |
Your merit is made from the written test. Documents are checked after you are shortlisted.
How the paper changed over the years
- 2017: all 100 Part B questions were Computer Science.
- June 2023: Part B also had maths, business and physics questions, plus 10 pedagogy.
- February 2024: Computer Science plus 10 pedagogy, with Python added.
The 2026 notice says Part B covers the subject with teaching methodology. Prepare for both.
